Although our core training is Goju Ryu Karate, we also incorporate Close Quarters Combat Sambo, Jiu Jitsu, Tai Chi, Kobudo which is also know as weapons, Kendo, Self Defense, Anti Bullying techniques and working on the three threes.

The three threes are:

 1) balance, timing and flexibility -

Balance - balance is essential in martial arts and every day life.

Timing - to end a fight quickly, timing is of the utmost importance as well as the person can strike while an attack is coming at them.

Flexibility - being flexible allows the martial artis to move in a way that avoids an attack. and strike back easily

2) put opponent: off balance, in a state of confusion or in pain

Off Balance - when you put an opponent off balance they can only think about regaining their balance before trying to attack again or continue their attack

State of Confusion - when you put an opponent in a state of confusion their brain can't think properly for a couple of seconds and that gives you more time to react to the attack or aggression against you

Pain - when you give pain by hitting they eyes, throat or groin, the pain sends a signal to the brain which buys you a couple of seconds to react to the attack

3) attack the: eyes, throat and groin (best areas to attack for self defense)

Eyes

Attacking the eyes results in a normal instinctive reaction of the head going back or eyes closing which opens the throat area for an attack. Massive pain if the strike connects with the eyes and if hit in the eyes, the attacker can't see and if they can't see you it is very difficult to attack you any longer. If there attacker is wearing glasses we don't recommend you attack the eyes in that case.

Throat

Attacking the throat results in a normal instinctive reaction of the throat area moving back that opens up easily striking the groin area. If you connect with the throat the pain is very sharp and the attacker can't talk or screen and you have bought yourself at least a couple of seconds to react.

Groin

Hitting the groin area results in a normal instinctive reaction of the pelvis goes back and opens up the throat area for an easy target. When hit in the groin the pain is excruciating and buys a couple of seconds to react.

*Note that with the three best areas listed above, no matter how many weights an attacker lifts or how strong they get the eyes, throat and groin areas can't be defended by getting stronger or lifting weights and therefore we find that these tested and proven areas are the absolute best areas for the best possible outcome when being attacked.
